About The Doctors

Jeffrey and Susan Phillips have been practicing Optometric Physicians in Pinellas County, Florida for over 20 years.  Licensed and Certified to use ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, we diagnose and treat glaucoma, eye infections and injuries and diseases.  Our diagnostic skills allow us to evaluate patients for medical disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and optic nerve and vascular diseases.

In addition to primary care and medical treatment of the eyes, we are highly skilled in the area of refractive analysis and our "patient friendly" technique takes away the stress of "giving the wrong answer."  We are always interested in your lifestyle, because knowing how you use your eyes allows us to customize our prescription eyeglass recommendation to your particular needs.  We will also make sure that your eyes are able to work together as a team:  There are six eye muscles coordinating the movement of each eye!  When these are properly balanced, visual efficiency is maximized.

If you are a contact lens wearer, we are highly skilled in advanced toric designs, bifocals, monovision, rigid gas permeable lenses (including bifocals and keratoconus) as well as all the more common soft disposable designs for both daily and extended wear.  We know that no two patients are alike, and that some patients will need help with dryness, allergic issues, or just getting the lens onto or off of the eye.  Both of our doctors have over 25 years of contact lens knowledge to help you succeed.

Drs. Jeffrey and Susan Phillips have developed a specialized approach to visual care for residents of skilled nursing facilities and are comfortable working with patients who may have Alzheimer's disease, brain dysfunction, dementia or injury that prevents them from giving verbal responses (including neonatal and pediatric cases).  We have met the eye care needs of skilled nursing facilities around the  Tampa Bay area since 1995, for such facilities as Sabal Palms, Palm Gardens, Seacrest, and many others.

Over 90% of skilled nursing residents have significant eye disease.  Unfortunately, many of these same individuals are unable to leave the facility for eye care, or may be unable to verbalize their needs.  Lifetime Vision Care stands ready to help with the skills of the primary eye care team as well as coordinated referral to surgical providers when it is necessary.
